Can I come there frequently? My favorite rap love songs

I’m old enough to remember when the idea made male artists hold their nose, which was horseshit. From LL Cool J’s seminal “I Need Love” through the mid nineties triumphs of Method Man and Mary J and Biggie Smalls, rap love songs provided the most crossover dough while allowing the artists to stretch their lyrical imaginations, with Lil Kim’s “the only way you’re seein’ me is if you’re eatin’ me” only one among many beautiful arrows to the heart. I suppose you’ll see some of these tracks on other lists (Black Star’s “Brown Skin Lady,” Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass,” Jay-Z’s “Song Cry”), but that’s why they’re standards; I’ve compensated with favorites by Angel Haze, Monie Love, and Slick Rick, and new favorites by Gucci and Future.

I don’t rank these in order of preference.

2. 50 Cent featuring Nate Dogg – 21 Questions
