  1. Jukebox

I’m so illiterate at what’s happening this decade with albums, Alfred. Nevertheless it seems like a very eclectic group and happy to see Merril Garbus so high! I always thought of her as a lab-human experiment when a mad Dr. Frankenstein somehow puts together David Byrne and Tina Weymouth in the same body.

People often say that very good lengthy films feel shorter than they actually are. I wouldn’t make great claims for SR3MM beyond “Powerglide,” but it’s a triple album that’s an easy and pleasant listen. That’s difficult to pull off.

EPHORIZE is on my tentative top 10 list, but EDEN struck me as somewhat weaker, especially because its choice of beats seems drawn from the same checklist of styles. Is that the reason it’s missing from this, or are you waiting to pass final judgment on it?
