I posit twelve theses:
- To be queer is to question your desires.
- To be queer is to crack a joke at the expense of your queerness.
- To be queer is express a desire with undue vehemence.
- To be queer is to squirm, with unnoticeable effort, beneath the weight of expectations.
- To be queer is to keep an eye on self-comportment.
- To be queer is to surrender without self-consciousness to a pleasure
- To be queer is to register, at all times, the termination of a pleasure.
- To be queer is to treat art like the mirror it often isn’t.
- To be queer is to realize that the mirror can’t return your love.
- To be queer is to understand friendship.
- To be queer is to test the limits of a friendship.
- To be queer is to ignite in friends and strangers a heretofore suppressed or unknown queerness.
