Singles 6/10

Notes:

– At last the country/pop crossover’s going the other way. Two years ago if you’d said Demi Lovato and Gwen Stefani would have appeared as duet partners with Paisley and Shelton, respectively, you would’ve been asked to sit down and listen to “Accidental Racist” again.

– …on the other hand, Little Big Town still wants to go the traditional way.

– Heretofore Blake Shelton had often been as convincing as a prom date; now he and his new partner have written their own George and Tammy number — or is it their own “Leather and Lace”? Anyway, it’s good insofar as Gwen Stefani is ever convincing.

– Although I also had problems with Mitski’s pipes, the sax-drenched arrangement is the star.

– Someone explain Ariana Grande to me.
